Glimpse of May

Well May just flew by. I'm still not sure where it went! It looks like June will be about the same. It's going to be a very busy month. Spencer started off the month getting teeth! It's amazing what that does to such a sweet little boy. Here is just a glimpse - - -
but we made it through that tooth and are now on the third one this month! He'll have five teeth total when this one comes in! After the first tooth Spencer got the croup and an ear infection. It is never fun to be sick, but even worse when you are a baby, they really worked him over this time in the doctors office with breathing treatment, oxygen counter (the thing they put on their foot to calculate the oxygen in their blood), steroids, and antibiotics. It wouldn't be so bad to someone like me, but for a baby it was quite overwhelming. He made it through all the medicine and is doing much better now.
One day I was doing something in Spencer's room and I opened the drawer with all his books for him to look at some books, a minute later I turned around and he had climbed in the drawer! It was just too cute to resist a picture! We went and fed the ducks at one of the lakes near our house. Spencer loved it. I love having so many lakes so close to go to all the time. They are so beautiful.
. Later in the month Spencer and I went with a bunch of kids to a local farm for a 'field trip'. They all do a preschool together and we got to go along for this fun trip. Spencer loved all the animals and loved being outside. After we had a tour of all the animals and ate lunch they let the kids play in this area that has a bunch of stations like: sand box, climbing area, digging for bones, tree house, water pump, garden with bugs, dancing and music station. It was a ball. Of course Spencer loved the sand box - his most favorite thing ever!
Spencer has a new favorite toys. We got this small slide from a garage sale thanks to Tiffani for watching out for us. It is perfect for Spencer! He still hasn't figured out how to climb up the ladder by himself, but he loves going down over and over and over.

The swimming pool at our complex opened last weekend. We have been so excited to take Spencer to the pool. He loved the pool last year - granted he was only three months old, but still. So we took him to the pool, put him in a floaty tube and pulled him around for a few minutes and he started crying, he cried and cried until we took him out. We tried getting back in a few times, but anytime my foot went in the water he'd start crying again. So we just let him play on the cement around the chairs. Later in the week we went to a friends pool and he did the same thing, the moment I started heading to the pool he started crying. I'm not sure what it is, we even tried the warm water in a hot tub that was just warm and he didn't like that any better, so it's not necessarily the cold water. Hmmmm? We'll keep working with him, hopefully by the end of the summer we'll be able to spend some time IN the pool!

And one more picture just for fun! The story behind this . . .

Well, pretty much just entertaining a one year old! Playing in the water in the kitchen sink!

I have been trying to get all the May pictures on my blog also!! I have to finish when the girls aren't awake. Glad to hear Spencer is doing better and hopefully June brings as much fun as May (minus the sickness).

Love the pictures. It was fun to see you guys in May. THanks for letting us stay with you. It sounds like we will get to see you more in July! I think we are coming up for the 24th, so hopefully we will get to see you sometime. Keep working on the pool. Madison liked the pool a lot for a while, and then she was done. Keep the pictures coming!

Cute pictures! So sorry about the teeth. Isn't it just miserable... I think Jennilyn is starting to get teeth.. So, yay! I'm super excited about that. I do hope you have a better month then last! Spencer is such a cute little guy. Love the eyes! And Jayden hasn't been a big fan of the pool either. We haven't taken him out this year yet, but he loves the bathtub so I am crossing my fingers that he will actually enjoy it this time!!
