Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day Weekend we met all the Turnbow's (minus Ben & Melissa, who were truly missed!) in Cedar City. It was such a fun weekend. All the little (and big) boys spent plenty of time catching lizards in the window wells, we spent plenty of time practicing music for Pearl's wedding and had a great time watching awesome productions at the Shakespearean Festival and Tuacahn.
Ok, so notice Dad's face in the middle picture. He can't stop laughing. Now notice the back of my shirt in the picture on the bottom right. Note to self: Never sit in front of Dad!!

I wish I had the picture of Scott and Heather in the Grease poster. They were the perfect fit. Posted by Picasa

Mt. Lemmon

We drove/hiked around Mt. Lemmon this weekend! It was beautiful and it almost felt like home instead of the desert. We ventured out without Brooks this time because he was stuck at school taking a final and writing a paper. I don't think I completely thought through how this would go before heading up there.
We got up there and I put Benson in a pack on my back and we headed up the trail. At our first water stop Benson was ready to get out and go on his own. So I took him off and held his hands as he 'climbed' the trail. Spencer struggled here and there, but we made it up a ways. We stopped for a snack and decided it was probably time to head back. With one boy in each hand we slid/climbed back down the trail! Benson just laughed the whole way down. With his big, deep chuckle he thought it was the best thing ever!! Boys and nature were made for each other. This is where little boys belong!!!
Here's Benson's second attempt at shoes - hence the sitting down, he'd given up trying to walk over rocks and sticks with his shoes so he decided to stay put!

Happy Birthday Dad!

We celebrated Brooks' birthday this week before he buried his nose in his books for finals. He said it was the perfect birthday! He requested ice cream sandwiches instead of a birthday cake. They were oh-so-delicious!!Everyone enjoyed them!

Happy Birthday Dad!!! Here's to another great year! We love you!

Pearl & Kurt tied the knot!

We got to go up to Utah for Pearl and Kurt's wedding last week. It was a quick trip, but so fun to be there for them at this exciting time and to see everyone. I didn't get very many good pictures, but I'll get better ones up when I get them.
Benson had his first experience walking around in shoes at the temple. The shoes are two sizes too big, but they are the only things that will fit on his chubby feet. It was too wet to let him walk around without shoes and I knew he wouldn't want to be held all morning. He managed, but still prefers bare feet!

All the nieces and nephews. Pearl was gorgeous. I wish I had a better picture of her in her dress! Zoom in on Spencer. In order to get Spencer to stand still I told him to put his arm around Amy like a nice little boy. He did and it worked really well at keeping him still and focused!! Amy is his favorite cousin even though he always calls her Kayla! :)

Five Fun Years

Brooks and I celebrated our fifth anniversary last month. It was a busy week and we didn't see him much, but luckily we spent the weekend in Flagstaff so Grandma and Grandpa watched the boys while Brooks and I spent spent some time together. Part of that was visiting Walnut Canyon.
Spencer loved spending time with Papa Tingey. They are such good buddies! He has fun helping grandpa harvest his garden. Now after visiting both grandpas he has decided that we need to go to the store and by a garden!
