Brooks and I have had fun swapping stories about things we've found Spencer doing lately. Things that just make me smile as I shake my head! First of all, last week I was getting things ready in our spare bedroom for our guests which means we put Spencer car rug in our bedroom. He was playing with his cars and Benson was sleeping in his crib (also in our bedroom). I heard Spencer say something about Benson's bed and I thought he just saying he could see Benson in his bed - because he likes to look at Benson when he's sleeping. A few minutes later I noticed it was awfully quiet and went to check on Spencer. He was laying next to Benson, IN the crib! I asked him what he was doing and he said he wanted to sleep with Benson. It made me smile as I tried to teach him it wasn't safe to climb on the crib.
Spencer likes to hold on to several toys and carry them around everywhere. At night we make him put whatever he's been carrying on the changing table where we can get it in the morning. The other morning Spencer called for us - as he usually does - so Brooks went in to get him. He found him ON TOP of the changing table. He had not only climbed up the changing table to get his car, but he had somehow climbed up with his bear and dog in his hands! Pretty impressive!
Lastly, Spencer loves to help with the dishes. I was feeding Benson the other day and Spencer pushed his chair over to the counter as he told me he wanted to do the dishes. There was a bowl of water in the sink he played with for a minute and then asked me to turn the water on. I told him to wait a minute and I'd come turn it on for him. I soon heard the water running. The surprise came when I went to see how it was coming. Let me explain the picture: the tupperware of sugar on the floor came from the open cupboard on the right. The open drawer on the right has all the silverware in it. He got ALL of his little spoons and forks out and was washing them in the sink. This time I didn't ask him what he was doing because I could clearly see what he was intending to do! At least he is trying to he helpful, can't complain about that!
Note to self: this cute little boy should never be left alone!
