Spencer - 3 years

Spencer
3 Years Old
Favorite Food: Broccoli and rice and chicken and chicken again! (Yep, that meal never gets turned down!)
Favorite Game: Candy Land
Favorite Color: Bleeeue (I think he was trying to say blue and green and the same time!)
Favorite Song: If You're Happy and You Know It
Favorite Book: Coloring Book (Actually, he doesn't really like to color, it's just what was in the room. I think it's currently "Shiver Me Letters" a new book from his birthday.)
Favorite Animal: Lion
Favorite Movie: Ice Age (Bug's Life is a pretty close second if not first)
He loves to ride his bike and go for walks whenever possible. He is really good at quoting movies and remembering songs from movies. Latest quote: "I'll make all your dreams come true" from Gaston on Beauty and the Beast. He just learned how to swim and is so proud that he can swim on his own now.
Happy Birthday Bud!

Father's Day!

We had an extra special Father's Day this year. Mom and Dad and half the family were here for their big trip and we started off the week with a Father's Day party, and the rest of Spencer's birthday party!! :)
Spencer was too busy opening his presents to look at the camera.
That afternoon we took a drive/stroll through Valley Forge. Here's the gang, ready for a full week of site seeing! They have no idea what they're in for!
Dad and his girls! (Well, most of them) Don't ever let him tell you we don't pamper him!
My boys! So grateful for Brooks and the wonderful Father he is in our family!

It's officially official!!

So what do you get when you have some of these:
and lots of these:
this:
and this:
A new Arizona Wildcats family!
We are so excited for this new adventure in our life. In a few weeks we'll head across the country as Brooks tackles the MBA program at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. We are excited to be closer to home and family. I'm a little nervous about living the student life again, but we'll make it through (everybody does, right?) and have some fun along the way while creating lasting memories with the kids!!

Spencer's Birthday

We went up to French Creek State Park to go camping last weekend. We got there and set up camp and had dinner and set out to explore. Every 15 minutes or so Spencer needed to use the restroom, but would never do anything once we got there. As we were heading back to our campsite he threw up all over the car. We got back to camp and got him and everything cleaned up, but decided to stick it out in hopes that maybe he got it all out of his system. It was his birthday the next day and I had brought a gift to open at breakfast, but we decided to open it that night. It was perfect - books from grandma. We sat down for a few minutes and read until another round came and we rushed him to the bushes. We kept this up for a while until he seemed to be done and fell asleep. Once both boys were asleep in bed Brooks and I had a great time around the campfire cooking smores and exchanging camping stories! When Spencer started throwing up in the tent we decided it was time to go to bed or at least be in the tent with them. After cleaning up mess after mess in the tent and Benson waking up and crying non stop we decided it was time to go. The rest of the night was a typical night with a sick kid, but once 5 am rolled around, Spencer was finally sleeping and I heard the rain on my window. I was so glad to be in my own bed to enjoy a few minutes of peaceful sleep and not in a tent worrying about the rain!
Here's Benson doing what boys do best: playing in the dirt!
Still has a smile on his face!
YuUuuM!

Saturday was Spencer's birthday and he felt a lot better that day - thank goodness! He had lots of fun opening presents throughout the day, and was so excited about his 'Nemo' cake! We won a birthday cake decorated by a young woman in our ward at the youth auction the week before! Elle did an awesome job with the cake. Spencer loved it! We had fun with the O'Farrells who came over to celebrate with us! Posted by Picasa

Memorial Day!

Over Memorial Day Weekend we headed down to Norfolk, Virginia to see Ben and Melissa's new place. We had so much fun. I tell you what, it's a good thing we don't live that close to the beach, I would totally be a beach bum! First we headed out to Jamestown and Yorktown, but the whole time Spencer wanted to go to the beach.
! We finally made it to the beach and all he did was run away from the waves! He soon warmed up to the water and we had the time of our lives. Oh, it was beautiful - a little crowded, but still wonderful! We loved it! When I get out on the boogie boards the cares of the world are washed away!!
The rest of the weekend we met their friends, roasted mallows for s'mores, stayed up WAY too late (but way worth the lack of sleep), and went back to the beach, of course.
I didn't get pictures of their new place, but it is beautiful. Thanks for a great weekend Smalleys!
