A Thanksgiving to Remember

I seem to have lost the pictures from Thanksgiving weekend, but I still wanted to post about it, because it's not every Thanksgiving you have BBQ turkey!

Kevin and Kay came down to spend Thanksgiving with us since we couldn't travel far this year. It being a week before my due date they spared me the stress of cooking a big dinner, and we planned on going to Cracker Barrel for a nice Thanksgiving dinner. We hiked A mountain and checked out San Xavier in the morning.

Early afternoon we headed for Cracker Barrel. We called ahead and the wait was only 20 minutes. By the time we got over there the wait was closer to two hours. The boys were getting hungry and none of us wanted to wait that long so we headed back to another place we'd seen and looked up: Mr. K's BBQ. They had an awesome meal with the whole works: stuffing, potatoes and  gravy, cranberries, pumpkin pie and BBQ Turkey. The whole BBQ thing doesn't go too well with stuffing and gravy, but it was very good. All in all it was a very delicious meal, we had the place almost to ourselves so we didn't feel like we were being rushed to finished, or crowded in a busy place. It was quite an adventure and a Thanksgiving we'll never forget.

The rest of the weekend we spent shopping and visiting with some friends. We even took the chance to try Frost Gelato. MmmmMMmm, so good! Kevin and Kay waited until the last possible moment before the absolutely had to leave. We all kept hoping the baby would come, but there was no sign of her arriving that weekend!
